In the wake of Hurricane Florence, one of the strongest storms of the year, Mercy Corps has team members on the ground in North Carolina to assess the damage from the storm and determine the biggest needs of the hardest-hit communities.
About half a million people remain without power in North and South Carolina, according to the latest situation report from the DOE. There are widespread power outages and in some locations power may be out for weeks rather than days.
