On Friday, 1st May 2026, the Sports Leadership Academy (SLAC), Impact Village Project Team hosted a meaningful and engaging “Ready-Fit-Play” Workshop for the final-year JHS students of Ayenya Community School. The workshop was designed to equip students with the mindset, tools, and motivation needed as they prepare for their Basic Education Certificate Examination and beyond.
Throughout the workshop, the SLAC team led interactive discussions centered on effort, wellbeing, academic performance, and future preparedness. Students were encouraged to reflect on their personal study habits, understand the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between academics and mental wellbeing, and take ownership of their learning and career journey. The atmosphere was open and supportive, allowing students to share their thoughts and ask questions freely.
As part of the She Shines Initiative, special attention was given to the ten girls preparing to sit for the BECE. They were grouped into smaller mentorship circles led by the female coaches present. These sessions created a safe and empowering space where the girls could engage more personally with their mentors. Through honest conversations and inspiring stories, the mentors encouraged the girls to believe in their potential, stay committed to their goals, and pursue their educational aspirations with confidence. The impact of these sessions was evident in the renewed sense of motivation and determination among the participants.
The workshop concluded with a reflective session led by Coach Isaac, who brought together the key themes discussed during the day. He emphasized the importance of focus, character, and faith as essential ingredients for success, not just in examinations, but in life beyond the classroom. His message resonated strongly with the students, serving as a powerful reminder of what it takes to achieve their goals.
To further support the students in their examination preparation, SLAC provided essential examination materials and snacks. In addition, a financial contribution was made to the school to assist with transportation and refreshments for students during the examination period.
The Headmistress and Assistant Head of Ayenya Community School expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Sports Leadership Academy for its continued commitment and support to the school and the wider community. Their appreciation underscored the importance of partnerships like these in creating opportunities and fostering positive outcomes for young people.
The “Ready-Fit-Play” workshop was not just an academic intervention, but a holistic experience that empowered students to approach their exams and their futures with confidence, clarity, and determination.
