This project will allow Yoga 4 Change to provide mental health resources to more veterans, youth, individuals experiencing incarceration and those living with mental health conditions. Yoga 4 Change programming provides tools for individuals, to use in their daily lives, to reduce stress and anxiety and increase mood, sleep and positive, healthy coping skills.
Yoga 4 Change attests that underserved communities (veterans, youth, individuals experiencing incarceration and those living with mental health conditions) need greater access to stress reducing tools and mental health resources. This includes offering more programs to individuals living with mental health conditions such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Military Sexual Trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences and Substance use disorder.
Yoga 4 Change (Y4C) offers evidence based, trauma informed programming at no cost to the client. Y4C programming has been proven to lower stress, anxiety and blood pressure and increase sleep, forgiveness, compassion, mood and healthy coping skills (among other data). Y4C offers a novel, holistic and proprietary program that encompasses physical movement, breathing exercises and self inquiry with an interwoven theme. Themes such as gratitude, self acceptance and vulnerability.
This project will offer mental health resources to approximately 250 individuals giving them access to tools they can use in real time, in their daily lives, on the mat, in their car, in the grocery store line. Yoga 4 Change programming introduces individuals to healthy coping skills and gives them a secure space to practice them, therefore giving them lifelong access to efficient tools for use when life gets challenging.
