Menstrual Hygiene Education Sessions
During this reporting period, we conducted menstrual hygiene education sessions with 50 pupils from St. Marries Primary School, Entebbe. Two sessions were held with pupils from Primary 5 and Primary 6, along with their teachers.
The sessions focused on:
Distribution of Menstrual Cups
We distributed 30 menstrual cups to pupils and provided guidance on their correct and safe use. Emphasis was placed on maintaining proper hygiene during menstruation.
Engagement With School Administration
We met with the St Marries Primary school administration to discuss challenges girls face during menstruation. One major issue identified was the lack of water in the girls’ toilets. The school promptly addressed this concern, and the improved access to water has enabled girls to maintain proper hygiene during their menstrual periods.
Mapping of Schools for Next Quarter
We also carried out mapping of 3 schools to be visited in the next quarter. This included assessing the needs of girls in various schools to help prioritize schools for the next round of menstrual cup distribution.
