By Richard Cummins | Co-director, Connie's Home, an FCF project
Since our last report we've enjoyed a unique holiday season and completed another adoption.
We've had several former foster children return to Thailand with their adoptive families to visit us at Connie's Home. But, this past Christmas holiday we had 3 families here at the same time. We were able to share Christmas dinner at a nearby restaurant with them all together.
We also spent time with each family separately over the course of several days. We went on special outings with our older children and other activities at Connie's Home with the families separately and together. We've included a photo of Christmas day activities with our children along with the 3 adoptive families from England, Netherlands and New Zealand.
Since the new year we had an adoption to Europe. It’s always a time of mixed emotions. We are thrilled to see a new family coming together. We are emotional about our privilege in playing a part in bringing the new family into being. And, of course, we are sad to see the children leave our home.
Until the children are adopted we will continue to invest in their lives and create experiences and memories such as the recent trip to the nearby reservoir on the river that runs through Chiang Mai. It’s through your generosity that we are able to provide these opportunities and we are truly thankful for your support.
Finally, Connie and Richard were able to attend the World Without Orphans Global Forum in Chiang Mai recently. What a gift to meet so many people from around the world who are working to make sure that all children have a chance to live in families. There are many situations that have led to children being placed in a variety of institutional situations but whenever possible we continue to work towards getting them into family settings. Thanks for helping Connie’s Home to play a role in pursuing a World Without Orphans.
