Hi Everyone!
I have super good news...Aspen passed her test!!!! She is officially a Certified Therapy Dog through Therapy Dog Interneational.
Founded in 1976, Therapy Dogs International (TDI®) is a volunteer organization dedicated to regulating, testing and registration of therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers for the purpose of visiting nursing homes, hospitals, other institutions and wherever else therapy dogs are needed.
As you can see, it is a very established organization and we are proud to be a part of this community. We have lots of plans for Aspen! Our long term goal is to use Aspen in the schools to engage young children with our original anti-violence campagine called "Paws Off."
This campagine will consist of coloring books featuring a "cartooned" Aspen. We plan to create a series of books starting with Aspen's first year story from the farm to Therapy Dog. To accomplish this goal we will need to contract a graphic artist to develop Aspen's cartoon image as well as others animals who will be along side her in her adventures. We will also be working with Elementary Educators to develop the lessons.
Please stick with us as we continue program development! I will keep everyone updated on progress. In the mean time, Aspen will continue to be busy here at the office supporting victims of sexual assualt!
Thank you for your contributions to our cause. Your support has been the cornerstone to this project! We hope you will stick with us as Aspen grows in her service position. Bye for now!
