798 reasons to say thank you

By Anastasiia Baraniuk | Specialist of Individual Fundraising

Dear supporter,

When you donate to help children with cancer, you probably picture the medicine that saves their life. And you'd be right. But your support provides something just as vital: the electricity that keeps hospital machines running, a sense of calm during procedures, and the knowledge that someone cares.

Today, we want to share the incredible impact your kindness made possible in the first quarter.

WHEN HELP CAN'T WAIT

The most visible part of cancer treatment is also the most urgent — medicines, diagnostic tests, the clinical basics a child's recovery depends on. Thanks to your support, 513 families received over $330,000 for critical medicines, specialized supplies, and essential tests. Your generosity allowed us to act quickly, ensuring that treatment never stops.

But emotional support matters just as much. A child going through treatment is still a child — they want to play, laugh, and have fun. That's why our team and volunteers regularly visit children in hospitals. In the first quarter alone, we organized around 80 workshops, 2 Pizza Days, and 2 Beauty Days.

KEEPING HOSPITALS RUNNING

In total, hospitals received $210,000 worth of essential medications and equipment.

This winter, we helped them cope with power outages caused by Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. For children receiving cancer treatment, a blackout isn't an inconvenience — it's a crisis. Thanks to your support, we were able to connect additional power generators at the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Ohmatdyt" in Kyiv.

THE INCREDIBLE POWER OF CARTOONS

Sometimes the most important supplies are unexpected — like a new projector for Ohmatdyt's radiology department. Now, instead of staring at a loud, intimidating medical machine, children can watch their favorite cartoons during radiation therapy sessions. It's a simple piece of technology, but it replaces fear with comfort.

Across the first quarter, the foundation reached 798 children and their families with nearly $1.1 million in support — all made possible by donors like you. Every change, from a life-saving medication to a child's smile, happened because you chose to help.

Thank you for making their treatment a little more bearable. Please continue to stand with Ukrainian children.
