Meet Micky.
Micky is a brown, black and white indie dog that was picked up by the CARE ambulance after he was hit by a speeding car. The accident left him with a badly mangled and bleeding right front limb. With the help of an X-Ray scan, the CARE vets, under the guidance of expert orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Lohith, could see precisely what areas needed attention. They found that Micky had a major fracture to the radius and ulna of his injured limb. With constant care and laser therapy administered by our vets, Micky slowly but surely managed to recover and soon learned to walk again.
Micky’s story isn’t unique. At CARE, we receive over 60 such orthopaedic cases every month. These cases require the assistance of a good X Ray machine to help make a diagnosis. However, in order to make our diagnosis much more accurate, we are looking to upgrade our current machine to a Veterinary CR System for extremely accurate x-ray processing. This would help us formulate the best treatment plan for similar accident cases and help us save more lives. This machine is not cheap and costs approximately $12600, but we believe it is essential to improving our diagnostic standards.
It is because of your help that we are so much closer to reaching our goal and we thank you for your support. But, we still have a long way to go. We hope to get there through the GlobalGiving platform so, please share this story to your friends and relatives or donate so that we can help Micky and his friends stay safe and healthy.
Thank you,
Sudha
