The May Higher Learning Fund offers graduates of Jifundishes's Independent Study program and Houston Scholarship Fund the opportunity to attend University. These hard-working, well-deserving students have overcome tremendous odds to reach this milestone, and this comprehensive Fund offers support for tuition, supplies, room & board, and a laptop.
For the hardworking students who successfully graduate from Jifundishe's Houston Scholarship and Independent Study programs, options can seem limited. While we assist these students to apply for financial aid for University, they often receive little or no funding from the government loan board. For so many of them, this can seem like the end of the road.
The May Higher Learning Fund will provide partial and full support to selected students to ensure they have comprehensive funding to continue through all three years of University.
University graduates in Tanzania are exponentially more likely to gain employment, earn income, and contribute to local and national economies. Additionally, university graduates are exponentially more likely to re-invest in their own family's education one day. That'a a lot of impact!
