It’s been 11 months since we first broke ground at Strong Start Maternity Center, and a lot has changed since our last update!
When we wrote to you on March 10th we were just a few weeks away from opening the center for prenatal care.
Strong Start Center has been open for 4.5 months now and while that’s not long at all, it feels as if this women’s center has also been an integral part of the community.
Here are some of the major milestones your contributions have made possible since April 2018:
In addition to these fantastic accomplishments, your commitment to regular giving means that together, we have continued moving towards our goal of helping women deliver their babies in a safe space.
While prenatal care and education significantly reduces a woman’s risk of dying in childbirth, they are only a part of the complex puzzle.
Sitting face to face with women and hearing their stories has motivated us to move even more quickly towards the planned expansion of Strong Start to include labor, delivery, and postpartum services.
Starting today, all contributions made to ‘End Malnutrition Through Maternal Health’ will help bring labor, delivery, and postpartum care to women and newborns in Northern Haiti.
