Global Community Organization’s Project 64160 is a targeted initiative designed to improve the nutrition, health, and overall well-being of mothers and children living in the vulnerable Char areas of Bagha Upazila and Daulatpur Upazila. Launched on January 1, 2025, the project is guided by a long-term vision of creating a healthy, safe, and environmentally sustainable community, fully aligned with our organizational environmental and social development goals.
During this quarter, we successfully completed all foundational and preparatory activities, laying a strong base for sustainable impact. These activities included comprehensive field surveys, quarterly project coordination meetings, and active advocacy and engagement with local government authorities to ensure institutional support and alignment.
A key strength of this project is its community-centered implementation approach. By mobilizing Community Clinic (CC) representatives and dedicated TYAGI volunteers, we conducted a series of counseling sessions and courtyard meetings specifically tailored for pregnant and lactating women. These sessions focused on nutrition awareness, maternal health, child care practices, and the importance of a safe and hygienic living environment.
As a direct outcome of these efforts, 5 lactating mothers and 29 community members have already benefited in this initial phase. While modest in number, this early impact reflects the effectiveness of our strategy and demonstrates how targeted, well-planned interventions can bring meaningful change to hard-to-reach communities.
This progress reinforces our belief that sustainable solutions begin at the community level. With continued support from our donors and partners, Project 64160 has the potential to become a replicable model for improving maternal and child health in other climate-vulnerable Char regions across Bangladesh.
Your support does more than fund a project — it protects mothers, nurtures children, and builds resilient communities for the future.
