The Maternal and Child Nutrition project in Kisoro, Uganda, is making significant strides in improving nutrition among pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, as well as children under five.
The project has established 1 functional Village Health Teams, reaching 134 households with vital maternal, child health, and nutrition messages. Additionally, 145 pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and 160 children aged 0-59 months have received support from trained community volunteers health workers ¹.
Some key initiatives include:
- *Nutrition Education*: Demonstrating healthy feeding practices using locally available foods.
- *Community-Based Support*: Establishing Nurturing Care Groups for peer-to-peer support.
- *Healthcare Strengthening*: Equipping health facilities and training workers for quality services.
