By Charles McJiltonton | CEO
October 10th saw the grand opening of marugohan market. Many organization and governed agencies we work with attended. CEO Charles McJilton reminded everyone that marugohan came from a discussion with a long-time partner who talked about the Japanese value of giving back (ongaeshi). This positive approach to viewing the needs of those who access the market is instrumental in developing the program.
We also worked with HopeOne, as US nonprofit, to implement an electronic check-in process. This will help us collect more data in order for us to better serve marugohan market members.
We were happy to see 42 households come and shop with us on the first day.
We pre-registered 323 households in the month of September and expect them to visit us in the following weeks.
We will hold a press confernece on October 31 and expect to have many more people come after they see marugohan in the press.
We are glad to have the rennovation done and a new store to serve the community.
