Mangrove Conservation & Restoration in Bangladesh

Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) a community-based non-profitable organization working in the south western coastal region in Bangladesh. In these region, natural disaster and cyclone across over the area and coast community people lost their wealth and also occur river bank erosion in the region. To protect from the natural disaster and safe the livelihood, mangrove plantation and restoration is the most demanding solution in the area. In that case, BEDS with the community based ecological mangrove restoration process are planting and regeneration mangrove in the shore of the adjacent Sundarbans area. Also create alternative livelihood through the mangrove-based product that will be produced from the mangrove plantation fruits. So, mangrove is not only the coastal security but also the livelihood security for the community.

Objectives: Protect shore from natural disaster, safe the assets of the community, alternative livelihood creation.

Want to spread out the initiative all over the coastal belt so that people get livelihood security with environmental sustainability. Want the support of the well-wisher so that we can scale up the activity among the coastal area.
