Dear Donor,
As we consider the fate of all vulnerable people during this global pandemic, it was difficult to write the report because the need is now relative. When the whole world suffers, there is profound sadness.
I had heard about from a youth group that plays mbira (thumb piano) in Zimbabwe. They are learning this ancient music that has all but vanished in Zimbabwe. They told me that they were street children that were formed to play music and plant trees. I happen to know their director and he is a good man with a huge heart and an environmentalist soul. They asked me about moringa and if they could do a program like ours. They weren't asking for funds but hoping to learn from us. There was no doubt in my mind that they needed the funds to buy supplies and so that was my hope for this period of time from donors. Zimbabwe has had a drought and food insecurity is palpable so helping them establish moringa nurseries seemed to be a win-win situation.
Planting a tree anywhere helps everyone! Stay safe!
Thank you,
