The Butterfly Tree continues to make significant advancement in malaria prevention in Zambia.
Our universal approach of combining the use of a safe insecticidal coating, larviciding in pools of water and streams, as well as the provision of mosquito nets is having a considerable impact.
Working alongside the Ministry of Health we selected rural areas having the highest prevalence of malaria.
Since January 2019 we have continued to work in Moomba Chiefdom and protected houses that were not previously covered, now every house in the Chiefdom is protected.
Two further schools - Sikaunswe Junior Secondary School and Kawewa have been given mosquito nets for every pupils and teacher.
In the past two years your donations have helped us to purchases over 3,000 mosquito nets.
In 2018 there was a global increase in malaria, 2 million more cases than the previous year. Though we are a grass root charity we are playing a significant role in helping the fight against malaria. Thank you to everyone who has helped us to achieve this. Moe funding is eneded to reach out to new areas were malaria is a threat to people's lives.
