For twelve years, Malaika children's home has been welcoming and caring for orphaned and abandoned children in Arusha, Tanzania. We provide a safe, loving home environment to babies, toddlers and teenagers, as well as dedicated outreach to reunited families. Malaika Guardians is a special initiative designed to give every child in our care access to a quality education.
The Malaika family has grown rapidly and is now supporting 28 children, and almost everyone is already at school. Ten years ago the average age at Malaika was 2 years old. Our education budget is now ten times larger than it was in 2010. As additional youngsters come into our care, and more children progress to secondary school and college, the costs will continue to increase. Education is a major priority for Malaika.
The gift of education opens up new opportunities. Malaika Guardians is a special initiative designed to give each of our children access to a quality education by ensuring school fees, uniforms, books, food, lodging and transport are fully funded.
Malaika Guardians has the potential to empower our young people and help them to realise their full potential, so that they can lift themselves and their communities out of poverty.
