Since 2006, Malaika has been caring for more than 50 orphaned and abandoned children in Arusha, Tanzania. We provide a safe, loving home environment to babies, toddlers and teenagers, and dedicated outreach to reunited families. Malaika Guardians is a unique initiative designed to give every child in our care access to quality education. Following our success on Global Giving since 2018, our goal for 2023 is to cover the expenses for all our kids in pre-school, primary, and secondary school.
The Malaika family has grown rapidly and almost everyone is attending school. Our education budget is currently x22 larger than it was in 2010. As additional youngsters come into our care, and more children progress to secondary school, costs are increasing. Education has become a major priority for Malaika.
The gift of education opens up new opportunities. This special project is designed to give each of our children access to a quality education by ensuring school fees, uniforms, books, food, lodging and transport are fully funded. We are proud that, to date, all children at Malaika have progressed from primary to secondary school, and have been supported at every stage of their learning journey. With your commitment we hope this will continue.
Malaika Guardians has the potential to empower our young people so that they can lift themselves and their communities out of poverty. Every gift - large or small - will help us to plan ahead, ensuring all boys and girls can go to school, learn and reach their potential!
