Wow, what a strange couple of months it has been! Like many others, MALA has worked hard to find new and effective ways to serve our community in light of a global pandemic and recent social unrest in the US and elsewhere. Much of MALA's efforts in response to these crises have involved creating and strengthening resources for the communities hit hardest, including healthcare workers, artists, freelancers, and other marginalized groups.
As a result of this shift in programming and resources, MALA's Board of Directors has decided to temporarily delay decisions on the 2020 scholarship application cycle. We are saddened to have had to delay this process, and have shared the news with all applicants and we look forward to being able to resume our review process later this year. As always we are grateful for the resilience and compassion of our community. These times which have proved complex, disheartening, transformative, and, in some senses, inspiring, and MALA is committed to standing with out community through it all.
