School's In... And MALA is gearing up for college scholarships - with your help! The Muslim American Leadership Alliance (MALA) is dedicated to leadership through integrity, and as such provides a platform for people to share their individual stories and to speak for themselves. MALA nurtures emerging community leaders, and unites Americans of all backgrounds. MALA is open to choice and creed, and embraces free expression, gender equality, and pluralism as cherished universal ideals.
Education goes beyond getting students into school. It is also about ensuring that the next generation is empowered to navigate and adapt to a changing world; shape their identities and make decisions about their own lives; and contribute to their communities and the world. Last year, over 200 students applied to MALA's Scholarship program. This year, we will expand the program to grant even more scholarships.

MALA Scholarship recipients become part of the MALA family, and are connected with platforms to share their stories. 2018 MALA scholarship recipient Laurel, for example, participated in the MALA screening of the NatGeo Channel's "The Muslim Next Door" and the panel discussion afterwards in April 2018 in Washington, DC. MALA continues to connect scholarship recipients with resources and opportunities beyond the scholarship and their school career.
