June marks the beginning of a new academic year in India, and the 100 girls under our care are preparing to return to school with hope and excitement for the months ahead.
After completing their annual exams in March, the girls had a two-month vacation. During this period, we organized a summer camp with group activities, soft skills sessions, and opportunities to learn new things. The camp helped the girls spend their holidays in a meaningful way while building confidence and friendships. Thank you for making these activities possible through your support on GlobalGiving.
Between January 2026 and May 2026, we received a donation of USD 20.32 through GlobalGiving. Your contribution helped us continue supporting the education and wellbeing of these girls during an important stage of their learning journey.
Many of the girls come from marginalized communities, single-parent families, and backgrounds where they are at risk of child labour or early marriage. With continued support, they are able to stay in school and move forward with confidence. Donations have helped provide school fees, uniforms, school bags, notebooks, and other learning materials.
The girls also continue to receive nutritious meals and basic healthcare support so they can stay healthy and focused on their studies.
Girls staying in our care homes are benefiting from bridge education programmes that help them return to mainstream schooling after gaps in education. Along with academic support, they receive guidance, life skills training, and emotional support to help them adjust and progress well in school.
The teams at BREADS and Don Bosco partner centres remain closely involved in each child’s progress through regular contact with families, teachers, and the girls themselves.
As the new academic year begins, all 100 girls are looking ahead with hope and determination. On behalf of the entire BREADS team and our Don Bosco partners, thank you for standing with these girls and supporting their education and future.
