Let's Strengthen Her New Academic Year

By Jibin G Jose | Asst Project Manager

As school bells ring and classrooms come alive, 125 underprivileged girl children step boldly into a new academic year, thanks to your unwavering support through GlobalGiving.

Between April and August 2025, we received USD 1,330.62, which allows us to continue empowering these young girls with not just access to education, but also for their holistic development. The new school year began in June 2025, and your support has helped us to ensure a smooth and hopeful start for each one of them.

These girls, many from marginalized communities, single-parent families, or at risk of child labour and early marriage are now walking paths of opportunity and promise. The contribution from GlobalGiving has covered school fees, uniforms, school bags, notebooks, and learning aids. It also helped provide daily nutritious meals and vital healthcare support to keep them healthy and active throughout their learning journey.

The transition into the new academic year was supported by engaging summer camps, where the girls participated in activities focused on soft skills, communication, creativity, and leadership. These sessions helped boost their confidence and fostered valuable life skills through play, group work, and interactive learning.

Our teams at BREADS and Don Bosco Centres at grass root level have remained deeply involved in each child’s progress, maintaining regular contact with families, teachers, and the girls themselves. Evening tuition centres continue to reinforce classroom learning, providing a safe and supportive space for completing homework and receiving extra help. These centres also serve as nurturing environments where the girls build friendships, receive mentorship, and stay motivated.

Girls living in our care homes have particularly benefited from bridge education programs, helping them return to mainstream schooling after being out of the education system. Through consistent academic support, life skill training, and emotional care, they are steadily catching up and thriving alongside their peers.

Thanks to your continued support, all 125 girls have made a strong start to their school year and are showing positive signs of academic and personal growth. Their enthusiasm and determination are proof that, when given a chance, every child can rise above her circumstances.

On behalf of the entire team at BREADS and our Don Bosco partners, thank you for standing by these girls and investing in their futures.

Thank you for supporting these girls in achieving their dreams!
