We are working for equality & against discrimination in education so Palestinian children and youth in Israel have full access to quality education so they can live up to their full potential. We are fighting for preschools in the Naqab, against high drop-out rates among girls and for equitable budgets between Arab and Jewish students. The education system has consistently failed Palestinian students in Israel. There is a lack of investment in educational institutions and infrastructure from preschools to high schools and severe disparities in funding between the separate Arab & Jewish education systems. The result is poor educational achievement for Arabs at all stages of education and entrenched poverty. We will creatively use the law to make education equal and accessible for over 430,000 Arab students in Israel.
We will go out into the field to investigate school conditions and will monitor state budgets for education. We will bring litigation before all levels of Israeli courts to ensure education is available and accessible. We will submit letters to the Education Ministry to ensure equality in education. We will organize awareness raising tours in the Naqab for journalists & diplomats. And we'll engage with UN human rights treaty bodies to raise international attention to state discrimination.
By creatively using the law, this project will make early childhood education more available in the Naqab, ensure more equitable budgets for Arab students, and improve educational infrastructure so that Palestinian students get a quality education. When over 430,000 Palestinian students #MakeTheGrade, they become more self-empowered, more capable of taking advantage of higher education and challenging job opportunities and better placed to demand their rights and to realize them.
