Zach’s Bedroom Redo Wish Comes True
“Wow! This is way better than I even though it would be,” exclaimed Zach, when he first entered his newly-furnished room.
The 17-year-old wished to have a bedroom makeover complete with flat screen TV and PlayStation 3. Zach spends a lot of time in his room due to his life-threatening aplastic anemia.
While Zach was at school, volunteers from the Make-A-Wish Foundation and UnitedHealthcare worked on his room. They spent the day assembling the new queen bed, dresser, bookshelf, corner desk, night stand and television.
Zach’s wish magic started when a limo picked him up from school and whisked him away to Game Stop to pick out some games for his new set-up. After choosing his favorites – and letting his little brother pick out one too – Zach came home to find his new digs better than he imagined.
All he kept saying was, “Wow!”
Zach’s wish was one of 25 local wishes granted during the Season of Wishes holiday campaign.
