The response to our Christmas Appeal this year was extraordinary. Thanks to the generosity of this community, we raised over $31,000 making it a record-breaking appeal for Women for Women in Africa. We are incredibly grateful for this support.
These funds did more than provide meals for families over the Christmas period. They will also enable our staff to fund critical items on our broader wish list, including access to clean water, essential furniture, safe housing, emergency medical support, and more.
The Christmas celebration itself was a vibrant and heartfelt day for both children and parents. The centre came alive with music, carols, laughter, and excitement as families gathered to celebrate together. Children participated in quizzes, games, and performances, while parents joined in singing, cheering, and sharing in the joy of the day. For many families, it was a rare opportunity to pause, relax, and create special memories together, a Christmas experience they may not otherwise have had.
Throughout the day, the true spirit of Christmas was evident in the sense of togetherness, connection, and shared celebration. Smiles, laughter, and spontaneous moments of play created an atmosphere where everyone felt welcomed, valued, and included.
This celebration was made possible through the fundraising efforts of this Christmas Appeal led by Women for Women in Africa, based in Australia. At the conclusion of the day, each family received a Christmas hamper to take home, extending the impact beyond the celebration and providing practical support throughout the holiday period.
To everyone who donated, shared the appeal, or supported the work in any way, thank you. We truly cannot thank you enough and are excited for what we can achieve together in 2026.
