VIDA wrapped up 2023 with another year in which we helped millions of lives through our 68 shipments valued at over $50 million. Peru remains a key focus of our mission. Andean residents living in poverty remain a very vulnerable demographic, and VIDA has been building programs over the past 30 years to alleviate the challenges facing those living in poverty.
As always, basic healthcare infrastructure remains a primary challenge. This is especially true of pediatric services for their young children. Providing the basic equipment, supplies and medicine to the clinics serving these vulnerable populations will remain a primary initiative of VIDA. These services, along with nutritional programs are critical to both mother and child.
