Hello amazing supporters,
We are excited to bring you a significant update on the impact your ongoing support is having with FGM Zero. From Narok County, Kenya, we have a touching story about Naomi S (Little Naomi), a fourteen-year-old Maasai girl who found safety at the FGM Zero rescue home in December 2022, escaping the threat of female genital mutilation (FGM).
In seventh grade at her village school, Naomi's mother intervened on the night of the planned procedure, feigning Naomi's illness and rushing her to a nearby pharmacy. Mary K, our safe house manager, was alerted by Naomi's mother about the danger and simultaneously reached out to Rick, the Executive Director of Global Roots, who committed to rescuing Naomi. The well-executed plan saved Naomi from FGM.
Little Naomi has just started secondary school at Ringa Girls High School in Homa Bay County, one of the best girls’ schools in the region. Her journey to high school is all thanks to your support.
Starting high school is a big deal for Naomi; it reflects her strength and determination. Despite old traditions holding back her dreams, she now aspires to be a lawyer – someone who stands up for justice.
Now, let us talk about Mary K, our safe house manager. Mary ensures our safe house is a secure place for girls like Naomi, offering them shelter and support. Even though Mary has not found a teaching job, she is doing an amazing job running the safe house. She wants to express her gratitude: "I am really thankful to our donors at GlobalGiving for making dreams come true for these girls. Your support has changed their lives and given them hope for a better future." Your kindness extends beyond the safe house, reaching Little Naomi as she steps into her new school, excited to learn.
As we celebrate the start of Little Naomi's high school journey, reflect on how much your support means. Your generosity has the power to shape futures, open doors, and bring hope to girls who dream big.
In Little Naomi's life, your help is like a thread weaving a story of change and strength. Let us stay united and keep making more stories like Naomi's – stories filled with courage, resilience, hope, and the belief that every child should have the chance to dream and thrive.
Your support is not just changing individual lives; it is changing the whole community. Through your generosity, we have been able to provide more resources for education, healthcare, and support systems. We have seen our young girls smiling and hopeful because they believe in a better future.
Also, your contributions have helped us conduct workshops on health and hygiene, teaching families new ways to take care of their children. It is amazing to see positive changes happening.
As we continue this journey together, we want to express a big thank you for your ongoing support. Every donation, big or small, is making ripples of change that go beyond what we could have imagined.
We look forward to sharing more updates on the incredible stories unfolding, all because of your kindness and support.
Thank you so much. Your kindness means the world to us and to the young girls whose lives you are changing, and we are truly touched by your generosity.
