As we reflect on 2024, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible support from our partners, doctors, and community. Last year, we awarded $1.3 million in research and travel grants, convened the Chicago Breast Cancer Research Consortium, funded 40+ doctors from around the globe to attend the 26th annual Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Symposium in Chicago, introduced Kirstin Chernawsky as our new Executive Director, and raised nearly $1.3 million at our annual Fall Benefit. Together, we've made great strides in the fight against breast cancer.
As we step into 2025, we have so much to celebrate. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation - forty years of hope, progress, and unwavering dedication to ending breast cancer. And, this October, we’ll commemorate another milestone: our namesake, Lynn Sage, would have celebrated her 80th birthday. Together, these milestones inspire us to reflect on where we’ve been and where we are going.
Our journey over the past four decades has been extraordinary. Thanks to your support, we’ve fueled groundbreaking research and inspired a community united by the vision of a world without breast cancer. As we honor this legacy, we are more determined than ever to drive progress and shape the future for the 1 in 8 women - and thousands of men - who are impacted by this disease.
In 2025, we are building on 40 years of impact with a focus on these exciting priorities:
Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: We are investing in early-career doctors and researchers, ensuring they have mentorship, funding, and resources needed to pioneer novel therapies. These emerging leaders bring fresh ideas and energy to the fight against breast cancer.
Advancing Transformative Research: Our research grants will continue to fund cutting-edge projects that push boundaries and address urgent needs. This year, we are proud to support the launch of several clinical trials through the Chicago Breast Cancer Research Consortium, brining equitable access to clinical trials for patients throughout Chicagoland. These efforts ensure that the progress we celebrate today lays the groundwork for tomorrow’s breakthroughs.
Collaborating for Greater Impact: As we reflect on 40 years of impact, we are doubling down on the power of collaboration. In 2025, we are amplifying partnerships among researchers, clinicians, and institutions to accelerate the journey from discovery to patient care.
Your support has been the cornerstone of our success, and it is what will drive us forward. Thank you for being an integral part of this incredible journey. With your help, we will dream bigger, aim higher, and work harder to create a future where breast cancer is no longer a threat.
