April brings not only spring showers, but a new season of grants supporting our investment in medical research to help prevent and treat breast cancer, provide critically-needed medical training through grants to fellows, and promote collaboration across disciplines through the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Symposium.
We were thrilled to see some novel research proposals through our Research Awards and Scholar Awards program. Additionally, our commitment to creating the next generation of breast specialists continues with investments supporting fellowships in breast imaging and breast surgery. We also could not be more thrilled to support travel grants for fellows across the US and across the world through our partnership with Chicago Sister Cities for the 25th anniversary of the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Symposium - one of the most notable breast cancer symposiums in the US.
2023 brings new opportunities to partner and to expand our Foundation's voice. With a renewed focus on growth we are investing in the team, tools, and partners to help expand and deepen our impact so that the 300,000 women and 2,500 men who will hear "You have breast cancer" this year will have hope for both treatment and care.
We'll have some fun along the way, too. As one of only two charity partners for THEMART's "Wine & Design" event this past week, we brought the community together to celebrate our work, share our story, and raise some additional funds to support our critical mission. More fun, story, and impact to come as we plan our new, signature Fall Benefit in October.
And, finally, our Team Lynn Sage for the Chicago Marathon has its biggest group yet with 52 runners from across the country and across the world joining us to raise awareness and money! Training has started and this group is an incredible force. We can't wait to see our singlets and t-shirts out on the course and to cheer them on!
Thank you for the generous support you have show Lynn Sage - we are incredibly appreciative and so very lucky to have you as a partner.
We'd love for you to join our meaningful 2X match opportunity for May as National Cancer Research Month and to honor and remember all the moms on Mother's Day!
With gratitude,
the Lynn Sage team
