Dr. Huiping Liu, Lynn Sage Research Award Winner
This May, we celebrated Mother's Day with our community. Lynn Sage was a mother to two daughters, Halee and Laura, when she passed away with breast cancer at a young age. They both reflected on what May and Mother's day means to them and the legacy that their mother created within our community.
Laura says, "I am grateful that I have a constructive outlet and community to direct my energy. I suspect my mom would be humbled and awed by the work we have all done in her honor."
And Halee reflects, "Mother's Day is filled with mixed emotions, but it's also a time for me to reflect on the important and impactful research and innovation of the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation. This essential work is in honor of my mom and for the future not only of my kids, but all younger generations."
While we remember on our past, we must also note that spring is an exciting time for the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation. With research and innovation top of mind, we announced that we continue to grow as a community in our efforts to find a cure for breast cancer.
- Five new Board members have joined the Lynn Sage Board of Directors for 2022
- We invested another $1,000,000+ in funding for research and education this year
- Celebrity chefs, including Top Chef Winner Stephanie Izard, raised over $20,000 for our Founndation at the BarbeCure event in May
- We will host an event on June 17, Play for the Cure, to raise funds for our mission. The last event raised over $50,000 for research and education.
We're hopeful that we are getting closer every day to finding a cure for breast cancer. Until then, we thank you for your support!
