Create Change: Support Disability Empowerment

Only 2 percent of people with disabilities in Cambodia hold a job. At Epic Arts, that number is 32 percent.

In 2025, 19 of our 59 staff members were persons with disabilities, including 9 women. 

• 16x the national rate: While Cambodia's employment rate for persons with disabilities sits at just over 2 percent (per Kiripost), Epic Arts operates at 16 times that.
• More than a job: Our staff work in the arts, hospitality and advocacy, proof inclusive hiring strengthens an organisation rather than costing it.

According to the ILO, people with disabilities remain among Cambodia's most vulnerable groups, locked out of equal education, training and employment. Epic Arts exists to close that gap.

Our workforce starts years earlier, in the classroom. This year, we secured a renewed Memorandum of Understanding with Cambodia's Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, extending government partnership through 2029. We also identified three Kampot schools with the most urgent accessibility gaps and began work with Kampoul Meas Primary School to close them.

Why it matters: children with disabilities in Cambodia are three times less likely to attend school, and only 33 percent of children with severe disabilities are enrolled in primary education, compared to 76 percent of their peers (UNICEF, MoEYS). Every accessible classroom is a future employee.
