Here is a success story from one of our digital service advocates from Loveisrespect.
"Today I talked with a chatter in her early 20s who was experiencing emotional, physical, digital, and sexual abuse in her relationship. She had tried to leave in the past, but ended up second guessing herself and deciding to stay in the relationship when her partner begged her forgiveness. Her friends were supportive and really wanted her to leave, but she was experiencing guilt and uncertainty. I talked with her about the dynamics of abuse, how abuse typically only escalates over time, how guilt doesn't mean she's doing the wrong thing, and about how to be safe. During our chat, she decided that it would be best for her to leave, so we talked about how to do that safely and how to get support from local resources and friends. We finished off talking about self-care and healing. She was very thankful."
Thank you for supporting these importnant resources for young adults!
