Project Report | Feb 5, 2019
Winter 2019

By Michelle Kricheff | Development & Marketing Associate

Thank you so much for your generous support of loveisrespect, a project of the National Domestic Violence Hotline. In 2018, your gifts helped us answer nearly 57,000 calls, chats and texts from young people across the country looking for education, safety planning, and emotional support. The loveisrespect website also saw over 3.2 million visits last year, serving as a valuable resource for youth to learn about healthy, unhealthy, and abusive relationship dynamics.

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM), and loveisrespect is proud to serve as the lead on this project again in 2019. This year's theme is Huddle Up for Healthy Relationships, aiming to empower young people to build healthy relationships from the ground up. We hope you will join the huddle and raise awareness with us!

  • All month: Take a selfie-style smartphone video telling us what a healthy relationship looks like to you, and share it on social media using #HuddleUp for #HealthyRelationships to generate conversation about this important topic. Tune in to our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts for interactive content all month long!
  • Feb 11-15: It's Respect Week! Check out our toolkit to learn about all the ways you can participate.
  • Feb 12: Wear Orange Day! Raise awareness by wearing your favorite orange accessories and Huddling Up for a group photo. Make sure you take your photos using #orange4love and #RespectWeek2019 so we can see them!

Thank you again for being our partner in engaging, educating, and empowering young people to end abusive relationships. We are so grateful to have you on our team!

With gratitude,

The loveisrespect Team
