Dear Supporter,
Thank you so much for your generous donation. This program is still in the capital generation phase.
Now more than ever, the need to support refugees world wide is critical. We'll continue our efforts to raise funds to launch this program.
In the meantime, I'd like to take this opportunity to share with about an active program in Mozambique in partnership with WFP to increase food and nutrition security for women, adolescent girls, and children in the district of Chemba, in the province of Sofala Mozambique.
The program is community-based and builds upon existing structures, including the provincial government to provide strategic guidance, using multiple communications channels, including radio talk shows and radiophonic theater, audiences benefit from entertaining and educational messages on the negative impacts of early marriage, and the positive impacts of dietary diversity, accessing sexual and reproductive healh, and basic childhood health services, and post-harvest loss technologies.
Listeners report the positive impact the program has had on their lives. Thanks to the program, communities in Chemba have learned to:
- Drying vegetables for food during the months where fresh food isn't available.
- Ensure clean water and better hygiene practices
- Reduce unwanted pregnancy by using contraception, leading to healthier women, children, and communities
- Access basic health services
We look forward to sending more updates soon!
