PCI Media Impact is raising support to launch a communications program that will raise awareness and advocate for the millions of people forced from their homes in Ukraine and around the globe, in partnership with USA for UNHCR.
Currently more than 14 million people in Ukraine have been forced to leave their homes, many their country. They have lost their community, stability, and things that most of us can only imagine. For refugees, survival hinges on being welcomed into new communities and able to fully participate. Stigma and fear affect policies and limit access to safety, housing, healthcare, and stability.
When stories resonate with audiences --- from policy makers to everyday people --- they are one of our most powerful tools to create positive change. Our communications program will: - Reduce stigma and discrimination against refugees - Shift the narrative from fear and scarcity to solidarity and inspiration - Generate long-term support for refugees and all people forcibly displaced around the globe.
Humanitarian assistance is needed-food, shelter, safety. But refugees also need support beyond what's tangible. To thrive and rebuild their lives, they will need the love, acceptance, and opportunities that storytelling provides. Contribute to this urgent campaign, and help develop long-term solutions to the refugee crisis.
