As the New Year begins our team at the CoGH SPCA have already witnessed heartbreaking incidents of animal cruelty.
In the past year we have responded to 6 399 cases of animal cruelty expertly handled by our dedicated Inspectors. Our Animal Hospital saw 14 998 animals treated by our compassionate veterinarians.
We know that 2020 will be as challenging, if not more so, as we witnessed even more people abandoning their animals over this past holiday season and admitted truly shocking cases of animla cruelty into our Animal Hospital.
Justice was the victim of a horrific prank whereby children threw a lit firework to him so he would catch it. Justice was brought to us for emergency treatment and is now recovering in our animal clinic - he will need a long time to recover from his ordeal - both physically and mentally. Despite what he has suffered this boy has shown our staff nothing but love and tail wags, even in his darkest hour.
We hope to offer the same refuge to the countless animals in Cape Town that need our help and thanks to you we can continue our mission to prevent suffering.
Support from animal lovers just like you, who trust that we will do what is right for all living creatures - every cent we receive enables our Inspectors to put fuel in their vehicles to respond to animals in distress.
Thank you for being a voice for those that are unable to speak.
Animal Cruelty Must Stop. No Animal Should Suffer.
