Our work never ends but, thanks to the generous support from people just like you, the Cape of Good Hope SPCA can continue to uplift the lives of all animals and work to put a stop to animal cruelty in Cape Town, South Africa.
As the largest animal welfare in the country we are continually dealing with cases of neglect, animal abuse and over-breeding which leads to the untold suffering of both domestic and farm animals in Cape Town.
In the past year we have been responded to more than 6 933 cruelty complaints; our Animal Hospital has treated 14 988 animals and we have been able to sterilise 6 505 animals.
These numbers are only increasing as the economy worsens and people simply can't afford to properly care for their animals - with some irresponsible pet owners even abandoning their pets on the side of the street.
Our work has only been made possible because we have support from animal lovers who trust that we will do what is right for all living creatures - every cent we receive enables our Inspectors to put fuel in their vehicles to respond to animals in distress; donations help our Vets provide life-saving surgeries that give animals a second chance and this support helps us educate over 13 404 children ensuring the next generation grows up knowing that compassion and kindness is key to caring for animals.
With Winter in full swing we know that there are many more animals out there in need of our help - from farm animals without shelter from the storms and strays looking for a meal.
Thank you for being a voice for those that are unable to speak.
Thank you for continuing to support our work and for not forgetting these animals.
Animal Cruelty Must Stop. No Animal Should Suffer.
