Influx of Rohingyas in Bangladesh, ACLAB & Community Radio Naf have been working with Rohingya on humanitarian crisis through Relief work, Education, Water & Sanitation and Communication for Communities. According to our working experience and different data show that the Youths & Adolescents and Children are the most vulnerable. Therefore, ACLAB has taken the initiatives to strengthen livelihood through Vocational Training for Youths and Adolescent and Early childhood development program.
forcibly displaced 1 million Rohingyas from Myanmar to Bangladesh. A significant number of them are 15 to 24 years. They are passing an inhuman situation because of frustration, fear, joblessness, dignity and uncertainly which are making them vulnerable. This situation is becoming more awful for the adolescent/youths & children. So, alternative livelihood of the youths and adolescents are important to change their life.55% of total numbers of Rohingya are children.348,000 are under-5 children.
ACLAB has already started Vocational Training & Life Skill Education to the adolescents & youths of Rohingya, age group of 15 to 24 years for alternative livelihood.The vocational training trades are Tailoring/stitching, Handicrafts with Bamboo/cane/cloths and Computer. Therefore, ACLAB plans to strengthen this activity for covering more number of youths and adolescents of Rohingya camps. ACLAB proposes to initially run 25 ECD Centers in Rohingya camps covering 500 vulnerable children.
in 1 years around 200 youth & adolescent will be trained through vocational center which enable them to do their own business or job and 500 children will be Developed entails the biological, psychological and emotional changes that begins at birth and continues through early adulthood.
