We are delighted to report about the successful progress of our initiative to provide Livelihood for Rural Women.
ISKCON Varanasi with the help of the HOPE Welfare Trust is building a Stitching Centre & Cottage product center at the village of Raja Talab in Varanasi, India. This center will facilitate the rural women of nearby areas in skills like stitching and home-based small industry, with the focus to make them self-dependent and have an alternative source of earning a livelihood to help their families so that none of them falls prey to domestic abuse or human trafficking in want of basic necessities.
Last quarter we provided training to 15 women in basic stitching.
The stitching center is under construction and we are hoping to get it completed by March 2021.
We are very thankful to all donors and volunteers to help us in this cause.
