Project Report | Dec 16, 2019
Impact of livelihood project.

By Bharath N | Operations Manager

For third quarter we identified 410 youths with disabilities in 4 taluks of Mandya district and one taluk of Mysore District.

We signed ToR(Terms of reference) with The associations of People with disability(APD) Bangalore. MOB started the referral partnership effect from 1st August 2019. Meanwhile, MOB team to undergo the 3 days orientation program to understand the APD Livelihood program.

For Mysore District Candidates we identified 2 new training centres in Mysore city. 1 is Ramakrishna Ashrama and another one is Deena Dayal Foundation. Already we have good rapport with Rudset Training Institute and Neharu Yuvaka Kendra Mandya.

Now we enrolled 60 Youth with disabilities to 6 different training centre in Bangalore and Mysore. Out of that 40 youths with disabilities completed their training. 15Youth with disabilities are working in local industries. And 5 Youth with disabilities are running their own shops.

Apart from this kind of training centres we also helped few youths with disability to get job in their local area.

Few youth with disabilities are facing difficulty to travel Bangalore and Mysore. So for we provided some financial support to buy sheep’s and stitching machine. Through our intervention 4 girls are enrolled to tailoring classes. Once their training finished they will happily run their life independently.

We are collaborating with Anganvadi teachers, ASHA workers and Village rehabilitation workers (VRWs) MRW’s community health workers and Taluk hospitals to mobilised youth with disability.

So for we are conducting health awareness programs and legal awareness programs also. Through this various activities we are mobilising youth with disabilities to enrolled livelihood.
