In this report we tell the story of Sufiya - just one of the numerous success stories from our Poultry Development Services Programme in West Bengal.
Her story is a wonderful illustration of how a small flock of chickens can be the start of a profitable and sustainable enterprise for women living in poverty in the villages near Kolkata.
We have created this short video for you where Chandrani Banerjee, our Head of Livelihood Programmes, introduces us to Sufiya and shows us how she has developed her chicken farming enterprise into something much more.

Thank you for supporting Shivia and helping us to provide women like Sufiya with the opportunity to earn money with dignity.
Best wishes,
The team at Shivia
Shivia’s work contributes towards the delivery of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth
