Shivia was registered as a charity in May 2008 and so we have just celebrated our 10th birthday.
The anniversary of our founding has given us a chance to look back on everything we have achieved over the last 10 years - the successes and also the challenges.
Over the last few months, we asked many of our supporters and key donors to tell us why they chose Shivia. And our newest trustee, Yasmine, travelled to India to find out how it all started and discover the impact our programmes are making today.

To add to our birthday celebrations, we are delighted to have been nominated for another charity industry award - International Aid and Development. The winner will be announced at the Charity Awards on 7th June.
So, thank you for your support - your generous donations allow us to continue with our mission to empower some of the poorest families in West Bengal. We hope you will continue to follow our progress for the next 10 years.
