Building an alternative Network to Stop VAW

Dear Donors,

We are so excited to share with you our progress on the LIV project!

As you know, this project aims to establish a support network composed of alternative actors that provide support to women with low educational levels who are in situations of violence.

We have achieved great things in the past 11 months!

• We raised $800 USD through the GlobalGiving platform. These funds have allowed us to finance the necessary activities for our program, including training for the members of the support network.
• We started training virtually in collaboration with Wizeline, impacting directly approximately 15 people. The participants of these trainings received tools to recognize and respond to situations of violence, as well as to strengthen their self-esteem and resilience.
• One of the major turning points of our project has been to facilitate the methodology to different professionals and build a multiplier network that allows us to reach more women and spaces. In October, we were able to train 70 students in psychology and pedagogy to be able to replicate our methodology. We also trained 46 students from a private university of various careers, who are doing community service, working with women who want to start their own business, and who can channel and contain them if they need it.
• We established contact with the Community Centers of the state of Nuevo León, which are administered by the Secretariat of Equity and Inclusion of the state government. We conducted a training this month with a group of women who are learning sewing. The session was very emotional and reminded us of who and for whom we do this work day by day.
• In addition, we are happy to announce that on November 27th we will be holding a training for beneficiaries of Community Centers in Monterrey, in alliance with a large local company.

We are so happy to see how our project is having a positive impact on the lives of so many women!

We know that there is still a lot of work to be done, but we are committed to continuing with this project and achieving our vision of a solid and effective support network that provides women with the help they need to overcome violence.
