Helping Hands for Little Hands

By Gail Wingfield | Director of Programs

Hello, Friends and Supporters!

Happy 2025! We are excited to bring you up to date on our program for training Early Childhood daycare workers and early childhood educators. Because of your support, we were able to provide last year’s participants with complete sets of ukuleles to bring joy to learning and life to the young children in their care. We could not have enjoyed the level of success we did without your help. Because of you, we were able to bring the joy of music to children across San Diego County. Thank you!

This winter and spring, we are continuing with our Early Childhood Education training with new, free workshops!   The first workshops will be located at Palomar College in San Diego’s North County.  We will be able to carry on our work by offering continued training for experienced participants, as well as provide training for brand new educators and child care providers.

We already have new participants registered for this first workshop and we need your continued support! There will be many new trainees this year. All of them will need ukuleles for their child care centers, day cares, preschools, and Transitional Kindergarten classrooms.  We sincerely hope you will be able to help us provide complete classroom uke sets for these early childhood educators as they bring critical mathematical thinking and phonological awareness through making music with their students.

Thank you again for your assistance with this important program.  We deeply appreciate your care and honor your willingness to invest in the future of these dedicated educators to bring musical opportunities and learning to their young students.
