For the last quarter of this year, thirty-eight (38) children received care, protection, and shelter. The children were provided with nutritious meals, including protein-rich foods, vegetables, fruits, and multivitamins to support their physical well-being.
In terms of preventive health, three (3) babies were vaccinated against measles and polio with the inactivated polio vaccine. A 6-month-old baby boy also received the Hexaxim vaccine, which protects against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, polio, and other serious diseases. Sickly babies were given flu vaccinations, and all other children are scheduled to receive their anti-flu vaccines by January 2025 to help prevent cough, colds, and fever.
A total of twenty-five (25) children recovered from various illnesses, including skin rashes, pneumonia, upper respiratory infections, bronchitis, allergic rhinitis, and colds. Three (3) babies are currently on Seretide and Montelukast. One (1) baby with a congenital heart condition continues regular check-ups with a pediatric cardiologist and is prescribed to have maintenance medication all throughout 2025. Additionally, two (2) babies and 1 toddler were admitted in the hospital.
Academically, the twenty-one (21) children attending school have maintained regular attendance and completed their final exams for the last quarter. They also participated in the school’s Christmas party and an outreach gift-giving event. The children are now enjoying their Christmas vacation.
As 2024 comes to a close, we reflect on the challenges faced in the daily operations of caring for the children. Despite these, we are grateful and truly thankful that God continues to sustain us. We are blessed to have your continued support and love in caring for our kids. Merry Christmas and have a healthy, bountiful, joyful New Year!
