CYSD's Tribal Training Centres based at Koraput & Keonjhar are perfect field labs for farmers on agro-forestry, vegetable cultivation, organic farming and youth skill building. Centre's 4 training halls, 30 rooms, 2 dining hall & bathes, incurs huge energy consumption for using lights, fans, computers and water lifting. Changing climate conditions demand urgent replacement of customary bulbs, tubes with LED bulbs/tubes and fans to save energy, get clean/green light with well ventilation.
Tribal Livelihood Training Centres are incurring huge operational cost towards electric energy consumption for lighting, running fans & computers and lifting water. Considering the changing climatic conditions and high operational cost burden, CYSD intends to go for complete transition from use of electricity to use of renewable energy by installing solar energy project. To start with, all traditional bulbs, tube lights and obsolete fans will be replaced by LED bulbs/tube-lights and new fans.
Once LED Blubs, Tube lights and new Fans are installed replacing all traditional and obsolete ones in Training Centre, the trainees & faculties will got sufficient clean and green light with well ventilation during training sessions and enjoy stay at hostel. Further, a sense of enthusiasm will be created among trainees from communities and keep them engaged in acquiring new extension knowledge. This will ensure active participation of trainees and lower energy consumption and operation cost.
With the installation of LED Blubs, Tube lights and new Fans replacing all traditional and obsolete ones in Training Centre, the active participation of trainees can be ensured, conducive learning environment can be ensured, energy consumption can be lower down and operational cost burden will be minimized. As long term impact, enhancement in communities' resilience to climate change can be ensured. Further, this will further help installing the proposed Solar Light project in near future.
