Dear donor,
Thank you for supporting the “Light Up Their Path: Autism Youth Career Experience” project! We recently concluded the very first Career Experience Camp designed specifically for young people with autism (hereafter “participants”; all names below are pseudonyms). A total of 20 participants took part in this meaningful exploration of the working world.
Over three intensive days at the Inclusion Factory, a social enterprise that employs 50 individuals with intellectual disabilities, the participants assembled automotive components from start to finish under the guidance of professional trainers and dedicated volunteers.
The programme also covered workplace safety and teamwork modules, with transportation, meals, and accommodation fully provided to ensure an accessible, supportive environment.
At the close of the camp each participant received a CNY200 work stipend and a personalised certificate, affirming their effort and boosting their confidence for future employment.
One story stands out. “Xixi’s” mother admitted she was uncertain at first, but during the camp she witnessed her son’s focus and sense of responsibility. “I never imagined he could be so outstanding!” she told us. Her words remind us that when there is light in the heart, a path always appears beneath our feet.
Including this cohort, 236 youth have now benefited from Career Experience activities delivered by the Inclusion Factory together with Taicang UShine Charity Center. Your generosity is opening doors and helping more young people discover their potential and take the first step toward independent, inclusive lives.
Our overall funding goal isUS$1,000. So far US$451 has been raised, leavingUS$549 still needed to keep the programme running and reach even more participants.
Thank you again for your kindness and trust. We look forward to continuing this journey with you and building a society that is ever more inclusive, diverse, and full of hope!
