Hurricane Matthew caused massive tragedy, flooding and power outages throughout some of Haiti's already distressed rural and farming communities. Farm Up Jamaica is responding with emergency supplies such as temporary shelter and solar-powered lights. Make a double impact by helping these communities recover and then have a lasting impact as we teach them how to grow organic food to feed themselves for years to come.
With severe, winds, floods and power outages, much of the already suffering population in Haiti is struggling to survive the effects of Hurricane Matthew. With over 850 fatalities and many more injured, Haiti is again, in dire need of assistance. Emergency light and shelter are desperately needed along with medicine, food and clean water. As conditions improve, this fund will provide longterm assistance to those affected throughout Haiti.
Farm Up Jamaica is currently working to respond to the immediate needs of those affected in Haiti who were devastated by Hurricane Matthew. We are providing emergency solar-powered lights and housing across the island, where most everyone is affected. As the situation stabilizes, this fund will begin to address the long term needs of devastated families throughout Haiti. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
Our longterm efforts will help rebuild and reestablish rural farming communities through sustainable and climate-smart agriculture. We will help as many people as we can as we continue to identify the most urgent needs.
