Lift Vulnerable Families in North-Kivu, DRC

Thank you for believing in the resilience of families living in North Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Your encouragement and generosity remind the people we serve that they are not facing these challenges alone.

Although our project has not yet officially launched, we are pleased to share the important progress made during the preparation phase. Every step we take today is laying the foundation for lasting change in one of the world's most fragile regions.

A Community Ready to Rebuild

For years, families in Masisi Territory have endured armed conflict, repeated displacement, and the loss of their livelihoods. Many have seen their farms destroyed, their businesses disappear, and their opportunities vanish.

Despite these hardships, communities remain determined to rebuild. Parents want to feed their children. Women want to restart small businesses. Young people want the opportunity to earn an honest living. This project exists to help turn those hopes into reality.

What We Are Preparing

Our team is currently conducting beneficiary identification and community consultations to ensure that assistance reaches the households most in need.

At the same time, we are identifying qualified trainers who will provide practical instruction in sustainable agriculture, small business management, and community savings. Preparations are also underway to organize the distribution of vegetable and soybean seeds, agricultural tools, and start-up support for income-generating activities.

The project is scheduled to begin in November 2025.

The Difference Your Support Will Make

With full funding, the project will directly support 500 vulnerable households, including women-led families, widows, people with disabilities, and other families facing extreme hardship.

Together, we will:

• Provide quality vegetable and soybean seeds to improve food production.
• Equip families with practical agricultural skills.
• Support small businesses that create sustainable household income.
• Revitalize 20 Village Savings and Loan Associations (AVEC) to strengthen local economic resilience.
• Improve nutrition, increase household income, and reduce long-term dependence on humanitarian assistance.

This project is about much more than distributing resources. It is about restoring confidence, dignity, and the ability of families to build their own future.

Looking Ahead

In the coming weeks, we will complete beneficiary registration, finalize trainer recruitment, and prepare all logistical arrangements for project implementation.
