This project will help urban slum youth break the cycle of poverty by empowering them with education and training so that they can build a better future and establish an atmosphere where the entire community feels enabled to exercise their rights and responsibilities. Spreeha envisions life without poverty where underprivileged people are empowered to improve their quality of life.
Most children in the slums do not attend school and the ones who attend, have a higher chance of dropping out. Adolescent girls in slums also have higher probabilities of dropping out of school, entering into marriage early and having children. Without proper education and adequate skills, the youth is unable to create opportunities and break the cycle of poverty.
Spreeha provides education and training for the youth that live in urban slums. Our education program provides pre-schooling for 3-5 year-olds and afterschool tutorial support to 1-12 graders to help them successfully complete their education. Our training program provides appropriate training and consultation to the youth to prepare them to compete in current market condition.
Spreeha's holistic approach helps about 20,000 people break the cycle of poverty and the number is increasing every month. The education program keeps the children in school and ensures they're competing their education. The training program prepares the youth for better job opportunities so that they can have a successful career, build a better future, and break the cycle of poverty.
